It is attractively priced. This book is slightly different in scope as it covers USA potters, and predominantly stoneware reduction fire works, although not exclusively. The format of having from 1 to 3 works each of about 250 potters is adhered to. Bought this book as I was so pleased with the companion 500 teapots. It too is a paperback with strong binding, similar to the other 500 series of pottery vessel books you will find in my reviews.
Unique, rich, each time you read it, there's something new to discover. Like others books from 500's series, a source of inspiration and creativity.
Once again, this book will be invaluable to my classes. This book gets the imaginative juices going. The number and design of the pitchers is amazing.
We are collecting the whole 500 sets. This covers the topic well and was chosen as a gift for a student of visual art and applied design [my daughter] - it was on her wish list.
I truly hope that they will do a second edition of each with new works. "500 Pitchers" is my 3rd of the "500" series of pottery books - and I have loved each one. It is a must have for all potters and especially students - each book is filled with images of great works of the potter's art, giving ideas for form and surface.
